THE PEARL - QATAR
Pedestrian oriented Venetian themed mixed-use residential and commercial development on a reclaimed island off the coast of Doha, Qatar. 32 apartment buildings and 87 townhouses with all residences facing either a canal or a piazza. Included a marina with yacht club and a five-star boutique hotel.
Al Raha Gardens
ABU DHABI - UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
A joint project with a consultant from Singapore, the brief was to design 50% of the residential dwellings in a 3km-long development as the first phase of Al Raha Beach Development in Abu Dhabi . Designs included three and four-bedroom townhouses and four and five-bedroom villas in a contemporary Arabic style.
Al Bateen Park
ABU DHABI - UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
The development of two plots surrounding the ruling family cemetery in Abu Dhabi accommodating a gated community of four-bedroom townhouses, four and five-bedroom villas, and twelve G+5 apartment buildings. Apartment parking is all underground and both plots have large amounts of green space and public facilities for recreation, swimming and children's play. As part of the final development, the overall style was revised in the final design stages from a contemporary concept towards a more subtle local ethnic flavour.
Coconut Island Resort
ABU DHABI - UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
Two small condominium clusters, 18 residential beach villas and a resident's club were planned for the residential and smaller of two islands, the second island being entirely a spa resort with all accommodation, villas and chalets having either direct beach or lagoon access. A spa pavilion is surrounded by dedicated spa villas and three water homes.

This range of villas were designed on 36m-wide plots and each villa is approximately 700-800m2 in area. Five plans were developed with three architectural styles, Arabic, Contemporary and Mediterranean, applied to each plan resulting in fifteen villa variations. All layouts had three living spaces, one dining room, one kitchen, five bedrooms all with ensuite, housekeeper and chauffeur’s quarters, and two-car garage. Each villa has a small pool and direct beach access.

Developed on 18m wide plots, the garden villas are approximately 500-600m2 each in area. Five plans were developed and Three styles, Arabic, Contemporary and Mediterranean, were applied to each plan resulting in fifteen types. All layouts had Three living spaces, one dining room, one kitchen, four
bedrooms all with ensuite, maid’s quarters and two-car garage. Each has a small pool and direct beach access.

This palatial private villa for a prominent family has eleven bedrooms, including two master suites and three guest suites, all with walk-in robes and large six-point ensuite bathrooms. Two large Arabic Majlis for men and women for up to thirty guests each and formal dining capacity for forty, nine living areas, indoor courtyard, home cinema, games arcade, hair salon, two gyms, full size spa facilities including hammam bath, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi, billiards room, library and home school rooms. Two commercial-size kitchens and a family pantry. In-house accommodation for thirteen female staff. Male staff are housed within a separate men's majlis building at the main gate.
The exterior architecture is Moroccan/Andalusian in style with highly decorative classical interior detailing being inspired by the Palace of Versailles.

Exterior Reclad
FENDALTON - CHRISTCHURCH - NEW ZEALAND
Although in very good condition, real estate buyers were nervous to purchase a property clad with the contentious polystyrene panels linked to ‘leaky building syndrome’, so the current owners opted to reclad the exterior to prepare for sale. Different architectural elements were emphasised with the use of either natural vertical cedar or horizontal black cedar, and complemented with the use of natural schist stone on chimneys, balcony columns and the main entrance.
